That's right. This evening I will be flying our of Torino and into London, thereby completing the first leg of my trip home. When I woke up this morning, I could hear the children excitedly chattering over something. Turns out it started snowing between when we all went to bed and when we woke up. Both the ten year old and the five year old were really excited to have a chance to play in the snow. The three year old didn't seem to register. I have a feeling he will while he's at school today.
Last night I received a Christmas present from the family. They had given me money, a neck-scarf, two packages of chocolate, a piece for a Nativity scene, and blue house socks with reindeer. As I opened it and saw everything inside, I started crying. I was not expecting anything like this, so it definitely came as a shock.
Thursday afternoon I went out for one last walk around Torino with another of the au pairs. We went to the River Po and got some pictures there, then went back to Porta Nuova (and no, I did not encounter creepy Italian man there, thank the snow!) to get Chinese food... Yeah, that's right. I got Chinese food on my last day in Torino instead of going to an Italian restaurant. And it tasted fantastic. We each got buffets, soup, and a drink for under 10 euros each. I got Hot and Sour soup, and it had to be one of the best hot and sour soups I have ever had. This just goes to show that Italy is fantastic for food, no matter the ethnicity.
One of the grandfathers is taking me to the airport today around 1330. I still need to finish packing and clean my room and lots of other random little things. I'm not sure how much I'll be on the computer in London (I need to go into town at least once to get some shopping done). Most likely I'll either end up vegging in my hotel room or wandering around going "Yay, London!!!"
I'll let y'all imagine that. I'll be back soon!
